“Change the world by being yourself.” – Amy Poehler

It seems like everyone these days are rightfully turning into carpenters. And with that comes everyone wanting to know all kinds of details about Sabrina, like who is she dating, where’s the next tour, or what’s her MBTI. But today, we’re not talking about any of that! We’re here to talk about Sabrina Carpenter’s favorite movies that she’s shared over the years with fans through interviews, magazines, and more. Although we’d love to hear what she’s watching when she’s not working late, here are some of her all-time nostalgic favs!

Across The Universe (2007)

In an Instagram Live, Sabrina revealed to fans that her all-time favorite movie is Across The Universe. In this romance musical, young British worker Jude (Jim Sturgess) sets sail for the United States in search of his father and ends up meeting carefree college student Max (Joe Anderson) and his lovely sister, Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), along with a cast of eccentric characters. As Jude and Lucy fall for each other, their relationship is threatened by the social upheaval that accompanies the Vietnam War.

Hook (1991)

Back in her Disney days, Sabrina revealed one of her favorite movies growing up was Hook! In this fantasy adventure film, lawyer Peter Banning (Robin Williams) returns to his magical origins as Peter Pan after his young children are abducted by his old nemesis, Capt. Hook (Dustin Hoffman). Peter must revisit a foggy past in which he abandoned Neverland for family life, leaving Tinkerbell (Julia Roberts) and the Lost Boys to fend for themselves. Given their bitterness toward Peter for growing up — and their allegiance to their new leader, Rufio — the old gang may not be happy to see him.

Deadpool (2016)

Sabrina actually loves superhero movies and one of her fav superheroes is Deadpool! Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Available to watch on Hulu, Disney+, and MAX.

Alice in Wonderland (2010)

When chatting with Interview Magazine, Sabrina said this is one of her all-time favorites (right behind Across The Universe of course!) In this Tim Burton film, A young girl when she first visited magical Underland, Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska) is now a teenager with no memory of the place — except in her dreams. Her life takes a turn for the unexpected when, at a garden party for her fiance and herself, she spots a certain white rabbit and tumbles down a hole after him. Reunited with her friends the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the Cheshire Cat and others, Alice learns it is her destiny to end the Red Queen’s (Helena Bonham Carter) reign of terror.

Available to watch on Disney+.

Kick-Ass (2010)

Another one of her fav superheroes is heroine Hit-Girl from Kick-Ass. Using his love for comics as inspiration, teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) decides to reinvent himself as a superhero — despite a complete lack of special powers. Dave dons a costume, dubs himself “Kick-Ass,” and gets to work fighting crime. He joins forces with the father/daughter vigilante team of Big Daddy and Hit Girl, then befriends another fledgling crime-fighter called Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), but a scheming mobster soon puts their alliance to the test.

Available to watch for rent on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.

Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (1999)

Sabrina mentioned a few times while on Disney that Zenon was one of her favorite movies growing up. “I love Zenon because of the fashion, honestly, because it really just revamped fashion in that time.” Set in the future, Zenon (Kirsten Storms) is an inquisitive teenager living with her family on a space station when she finds herself involved with suspected dodgy dealing and ends up being sent to a strange place, Earth.

Available to watch on Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.

Spy Kids (2001)

Another one of her favorites growing up was none other than Spy Kids. And who doesn’t love this iconic movie? Two young kids become spies in attempt to save their parents, who are ex-spies, from an evil mastermind. Armed with a bag of high tech gadgets and out-of-this world transportation, Carmen (Alexa Vega) and Juni (Daryl Sabara) will bravely jet through the air, dive under the seas and crisscross the globe in a series of thrilling adventures on a mission to save their parents … and maybe even the world.

Available to watch for rent on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.
